JEE Main 2018: Online Examination Analysis

The second phase of JEE Main 2018 examination (Computer Based Test) was scheduled to be conducted in three shifts i.e. on April 15 and April 16, 2018. The examination was held yesterday at 330 centres for first two shifts, whereas the same for the third shift will be conducted today. The time duration of each shift is 3 hours. Nearly 1.5 Lakh candidates appeared for Online examination this year. However, there is an increase in the number of online enrollment for the academic year 2018, but a constant dip has been observed in the overall enrollment for JEE Main 2018 entrance examination.

Analysis of JEE Main 2018 Online Paper:

The deputy director of FIIT-JEE stated that the difficulty level of the Computer-Based test was the same as in Paper-Pen Mode test. According to him, the Mathematics and Physics Question Paper seemed to be of the same level, whereas the Chemistry Paper was slightly easy.

The JEE Main 2018 Physics Paper can be scored medium on the difficulty meter whereas Chemistry Paper was majorly from NCERT and was medium on difficulty meter. Mathematics Paper was quite easy, but few aspirants found it lengthy.

JEE main offline examination was conducted on April 8, 2018 in which nearly 10.5 Lakh candidates appeared. The offline examination was moderate. According to the experts, the cut-off for the JEE main 2018 examination is likely to fall between 90 to 100. There had been allegations by few websites stating that few questions in the offline mode were plagiarized from a model test paper of a private institute. However, CBSE denied all the allegations.

The result for both the mode of examinations is expected to be declared in the first week of May 2018 whereas the answer key for both the modes is expected to be released by April 24, 2018.
