JEE Advanced 2018: Format Changed

Joint Entrance Examination i.e. JEE Advanced is scheduled to be conducted by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur on May 20, 2018. This year the format of the examination has been changed. Until last year the examination was conducted in both online and offline mode but from this year the examination will be conducted only in Computer-Based Test (CBT) Mode.  The JEE Main Paper-Pen Mode test was conducted on April 8, 2018 where its Computer-Based Test is scheduled to be conducted on April 15 & April 16, 2018. The candidates qualifying JEE Main examination will appear for JEE Advanced 2018 examination.

JEE Advanced 2018 Format Changed

Important Instructions about JEE Advanced:

  • The total time duration for JEE Advanced 2018 examination will be 180 minutes.
  • The computer screen for every candidate will carry clock counter and the countdown timer will display the remaining time for the candidate to accomplish their examination. Once the timer reaches zero, the examination will end. No extra time will be provided to any candidate.

JEE Advanced 2018 exam pattern:

  • The JEE advanced 2018 Question Paper will comprise of three separate sections i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • All the questions will be objective type either in the form of multiple choice questions or numerical answer type questions.
  • The questions will be drafted to test the comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of the aspiring candidate.
  • The question paper will be bilingual i.e. it will comprise of questions in English and Hindi languages. The candidate can anytime switch the preferred language during the examination.
  • The details about the marking scheme will be available in the ‘Instruction to Candidate' section. Candidates are advised to thoroughly read the instructions before attempting questions on the day of examination.
