IBPS RRB Office Assistant Job Profile

IBPS RRB conducts recruitment for two groups - A and B through Common Written Examination. RRB or Regional Rural Banks have been setup by the Government of India to ensure rural areas are also benefited from Banking or Financial Services.

Group A is Higher Level Management such as Higher Level Management and Group B relates to the Lower Level Management IBPS RRB Office Assistant (Multipurpose) in the management hierarchy.

The Group A posts consist of Scale I, II and III. Group B relates to the post of Office Assistants.

IBPS RRB Office Assistant begins from Lower Management and is concerned about cash collection, maintenance of accounts and verification of cheques. 

The job is described in detail as follows:

  1. Receipt Handling: Receiving and maintaining written acknowledgments of cash, drafts, cheques, pay orders and other instruments.
  2. Withdrawal Handling: the Cash payment of withdrawal forms and cheques.
  3. Email and Delivery: Managing email receipts and sending replies and managing the delivery of cheque books.
  4. Apart from the above-mentioned duties, other supporting work would be done by the candidate.
  5. The Candidates are a part of the front desk with interactive responsibilities with customers.

There is a probation period of one year where the candidates are trained and oriented with their responsibilities.

The IBPS RRB Basic Salary that is offered is INR 10K-15K. While on a usual basis, the pay scales and salary policies vary across various banks. An increment would be awarded to a candidate dependent on his/her performance.

The IBPS RRB Selection Procedure consists of a Common Written Examination and an Interview Round that is held by IBPS. It roughly would take a time of 4-5 months for the candidates to get selected. The candidates would initially appear for IBPS RRB Preliminary Exam and after that, the qualifying candidates would appear for the Mains Examination.
