FMS Changes its Admission Policy for MBA 2017-19

FMS – Faculty of Management Studies is one of the most sought-after B-schools in the country today. The B-school recently announced its admission policy for MBA 2017-19. In the official announcement, FMS has stated that now the shortlisting of candidates will be based on the sectional weightage marks of CAT 2016.

The online admission process commenced on 1st November and it will go on till 30th November. Last year, the announcement regarding admissions was made a month earlier and the entire process got concluded on 15th November, 2015.

As per the new admission policy, FMS will now also take into account the scores across the three sections of CAT exam. Scoring high percentile in the exam won’t be suffice to get into the prestigious B-school. Dr. ML Singhla, Dean, FMS said that a compounded score will be calculated wherein weightage of 30%, 30% and 40% will be given to scores obtained in QA, DILR and VaRc sections respectively. This score will be used to qualify through the first round of final admission.

Aspirants aiming for FMS will have to register on the official website of the college, apart from registering and appearing for CAT 2016. The cost of online application is Rs. 1100 and the payment can be made on the official website.

The number of seats available for the 2-year flagship program may be revised, but the current intake is 200 out of which 101 are in the unreserved category while rest of the 99 seats are reserved.

A majority of CAT aspirants aim to study at one of the IIMs. However, FMS is also among the most popular B-schools in the country and after the IIMs, a large percentage of aspirants look forward to studying at the reputed college.

FMS, Delhi was established in 1954 and considered as one of the most renowned B-school in the country. It is situated in the North campus of Delhi University and the main USP of the B-school is its extremely low fee structure when compared to other schools.

The placements record of FMS highlights some whopping numbers; students have bagged lucrative packages in previous years. In 2016, the average salary package offered, increased to Rs. 20.5 lakhs per annum, while the highest package increased to Rs. 66 lakh.
