Examination Centres For JEE Mains 2017

By: R Chandrakala on Aug 17, 2017

JEE Main 2017 is chalked down to be conducted across 104 cities across the nation and Nine international cities. Candidates who are applying for the 2017 examination have to choose the examination centre according to their own comfort. But candidates from states of  J&K, Meghalaya and Assam have to choose the exam centre in their own state as they don't have to submit their Aadhar card for the registration process. Applicants are required to select their examination centre at the time of online registration. Applicants can select up to four preference if they are choosing online exam (Pen and Paper based test) but they can only choose 1 centre if they are opting for the online test (computer based test).

The selection of exam centre for an applicant depends on several factors such as state code of eligibility, the medium of question paper, no. of applicants applying for a centre, etc.

The state code of eligibility is the state from where the applicants have completed their 10+2 or equivalent examination or passport (for OCI, PIO and foreign applicants). Applicants have to put the correct code at the time of online registration. Test centres in Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli also have the option of Gujarati along with Hindi and English as the Language or Medium of question papers.

The final decision regarding the allotment of centres is reserved with the CBSE. All the relevant information regarding the test centres such as allotted centre and venue details will be mentioned on the JEE Mains 2017 Admit Card. In a case of any concern, CBSE can allow centre in any other nearby city or cancel any of the allotted centres.JEE Main 2017 is chalked down to be conducted across 104 cities across the nation and Nine international cities.
