With the announcement of Lok Sabha Elections 2019 schedule by Election Commission of India, there is quite a buzz in the education sector as examination dates of some of the entrance exams are clashing with the election dates. The election will be conducted in multiple session throughout April and May affecting dates of many nations as well as state-level examinations. There are speculations making rounds regarding the change in dates of the examinations.
Lok Sabha Elections 2019 dates have been announced yesterday and may affect dates of examination including JEE Advanced 2019, CLAT, GUJCET, NATA and ICAI CA.
LS Elections 2019 would be conducted on April 11, April 18, April 23, April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19, 2019, in different states across the country. Some of the engineering, law and other examination whose dates yet to be announced may be scheduled as per the dates of the elections. On the other hand, there are exams which dates are already been announced in the past and may be changed in the coming days.
Schedule for JEE Advanced 2019 was announced earlier last month after completion of the first phase of JEE Main 2019. The exam is scheduled to be conducted on May 19 and the same is colliding with the voting dates of constituencies across 8 states, there is a high possibility that the exam dates may be rescheduled.
CLAT 2019 is scheduled to be conducted on May 12, 2019, which clashes with the phase 6 of elections. The national level examination is conducted across the country for admission in undergraduate and postgraduate courses being offered at NLUs.
Gujarat Common Entrance Test also known as GUJCET 2019 is scheduled to be conducted on April 23, 2019, the same day as the election in the state. The dates of state-level examination may get changed and candidates are advised to visit the official website on a regular basis for any changes.
One of the popular exams of Architecture courses in the country, NATA 2019 is scheduled to be conducted on May 12, 2019, and considering the inconvenience of the students, the exam dates may change in future.
The May session of ICAI CA 2019 is clashing with the election dates of May 6 and May 12. The probability of rescheduling date is a lot or there can be a change in dates for just a few states.
It is important to note that this is just assumptions that the conducting authority will reschedule the dates for the above-mentioned examinations. There may be cases where the dates remain the same as announced earlier. The assumptions are totally based on the inconvenience that may be considered, however, there is no concrete rule that the elections and examinations cannot be conducted on the same date. Candidates are advised to check the official website in order to not miss any important changes or dates.
