Delay in JEE Main 2022 Due to State Polls, Starting From March Instead of Feb!

JEE Main Exam 2022 which was scheduled to be conducted in February month is likely to be delayed and conducted in March in the view of assembly polls in different states. The exam is scheduled to commence from March instead of February in 2022. The news say that it may now get conducted in March, April, May, and June months. The reason of delaying the exam is the pending elections. Considering the pending elections, the exam schedule is supposedly tweaked in the coming year and the first exam is likely to be conducted in March followed by the next three months.

When will JEE Main Exam be conducted?

NTA is the conducting authority of JEE Main Exam and as per the latest report, NTA is being held responsible for conducting the first Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to the central universities.

Joint Entrance Examination 2022 i.e. JEE Main 2022 Exam is anticipated to be held in, starting from March, April, May, and June in the year 2022.

Speaking of when JEE Main exam will be conducted, there are no proposed dates by the officials yet. An official from the Ministry of Education has only confirmed the delay in engineering entrance exam due to the pending elections. One of the senior officials said:

“Considering the pending elections, the schedule could be tweaked this year. The first exam is likely to be scheduled in March, followed by April, May and June,”

No update has been given apropos the registration and exam dates of JEE Main Exam. Given the state of things and timeline of month of exam, we can expect that the registration of JEE Main Exam 2022 might begin in the first week of January 2022 on the official website of JEE Main i.e. jeemain.nta.nic.in.

What Can Cause Further Delay in JEE Main Exam?

Another reason of delaying exams could be the sudden surge in Omicron cases in the country, there are rumors that the exam may get postponed in order to prevent the outbreak of the virus. Omicron Variant (another variant of Corona virus) Cases in Delhi have rose up to 238 and India reported 781 cases which means they have gone from 2-3% to 25-30%.

This Omicron rise has now led to shutting down of public places and delay in exams.
