Probably getting into Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) is not everyone's dream or probably every engineers dream. The chairperson of JEE Advanced Mr. ML Sharma said that like every other year this year many students took part in JEE advanced and have qualified it as well but the students who have qualified the entrance exam but did not register to take admission in the IITs.
It was really very drastic to see that students are not registering for the IITs. In the year 2019 there were 11.47 lakh candidates who registered for JEE Mains, out of these 2.45 lakh students qualified the JEE Advanced but there were only 1.73 lakh students who registered. This really is a very small number of students who registered for IITs.
In 2018, there were 2.31 lakh students who qualified for JEE Advance but out of 2.31 lakh there were only 1.65 lakh students registered for IITs.

Trends are showing that the number of students opting for IITs is going lower and lower so in future it is expected that the number of students registering in IIT will definitely fall.
The second stage of Joint entrance exam is JEE Advanced to get selected in IITs. On the basis of score of JEE Advanced there will be selection. There is a cut off in JEE Main score and those meeting JEE Mains cut off will be allowed to appear for the JEE Advanced.
JEE Advanced 2019 was officially scheduled by IIT Roorkee. It is scheduled on May 27, 2019 which is on Monday. It is going to be conducted in India as well as Abroad.
The registration process for JEE Advance has stopped on May 9, 2019, but the deadline for the examination has been extended for Odisha till May 15, 2019.
2,4500 students have qualified the JEE Main 2019 so all those students will be allowed to fill the application form of JEE advanced. In JEE advance the age barrier is now removed.
