CTET 2018: Online Application Procedure Delayed

The Online Application Procedure for CTET 2018 was scheduled to commence today, that is June 22, 2018. However, a notification has been released by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on June 19, 2018, stating that the online application procedure will be delayed due to ‘administrative reasons’. The Board will soon notify the new dates.

HRD Minister, Prakash Javadekar directed the Board on June 17, 2018, to conduct the CTET examination in 20 languages

Earlier a notification was released by CBSE according to which the examination will be conducted in three languages- Hindi, English, and Sanskrit. The students pointed out the availability of merely three languages for examination which created a controversy. The regional political parties blamed the Board for imposing Hindi over other regional languages.

The CBSE later clarified that the Phase I of the examination will be conducted in these three languages whereas the Phase II which is scheduled to be conducted later would be conducted in other languages. However, the HRD Minister directed the Board to conduct the examination in 20 languages including English, Hindi, Sanskrit and 17 other regional languages. Earlier the examination was used to be conducted in 20 languages.

CTET 2018 examination is scheduled to be conducted on September 16, 2018

The online application was scheduled to start on June 22, 2018, and the last date to apply for the same was July 21, 2018. The candidates are waiting for the board to release the notification regarding the revised scheduled for CTET 2018.

About CTET:

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test known as CTET is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The candidates who qualify CTET examination are eligible for the appointment of a primary teacher for Class I to V and upper primary teacher for Class VI to VIII. CTET is an eligibility test, required to attain a teaching post in Central schools such as KVs, NVs etc.
