CTET would be held in an online mode now onwards. This amendment introduced by National Council for Technical Education has confirmed that all changes shall be ensured for all the seating papers and examination. There are talks with CBSE to make CTET entirely go online. The Council has also been planning to bring changes in the way that the examination is being conducted.

The reason for such modification to be issued in the CTET Exam structure is to enhance the quality of candidates selected for teaching purposes. In line with the same, the National Council of Education Research and Training would be preparing the ASK Pattern. Conduct of CTET would specifically affect those candidates who are not used to operating a computer.
The examination would be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education and the groundwork would be done by NCTE to improve the structure of CTET. This is a national level examination which is held to ensure that the candidates are eligible to be a teacher for Grades 1 to 8.
Candidates with a Bachelor of Education degree or equivalent can apply for the Teacher Eligibility Test. CTET usually consists of two papers - Paper 1 for candidates who teach for candidates from Grade 1-5. Candidates aiming to become a teacher of Grades 6-8 would be required to qualify Paper 2 as well.
About 1 million candidates are known to apply for CTET Examination every year. The CTET Examination has been a mandatory requirement to become a teacher. Qualifying the exam does not always guarantee a job. Given the trends of a past few years, the pass percentage of candidates is pretty low. The qualifying marks for the examination are 60%.
The candidates can appear for CTET a number of times. The candidates may re-appear for the examination to improve their scores. The CTET Eligibility certificate is valid for up to a period of 7 years. Once the validity of the certificate lapses, the candidates would be able to renew the same only by taking the examination another time.
CTET is an eligibility examination which would be required to qualify or appear for different examinations across TGT, PGT, TET, BTC and NTT. There would be no fixed vacancies under the CTET Examination as the number of vacancies would be divided into subzones as per different examinations conducted by the Government. The latest number of vacancies shall be released and notified on the official website.
