CTET 2019: Exam Centres Increased in Bihar and Assam

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to add more examination centres in the state of Bihar and Assam for the upcoming CTET 2019 Examination. The board has also requested candidates who have already selected exam centres in Patna, Muzaffarpur, and Guwahati to modify their choices as per the currently available list of CTET Exam Centres.

Candidates of Bihar and Assam will now be able to select the newly added exam centres for CTET other than just Patna, Muzaffarpur and Guwahati.

 The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is scheduled to be conducted on July 7, 2019, in 20 different languages across the country. The conducting authority has released an official list of newly added examination centres and the exam will be conducted in Dibrugarh, Jorhat, and Silchar of Assam and Bhagalpur, Darbhanga, Gaya and Vaishali in Bihar. Candidates who have locked their preferences earlier can visit the official website now and make a request to change the examination centre in the preferred location.

The official statement released earlier this week reads "All candidates may choose/change their examination cities as per their convenience.” Also, candidates who have specifically selected Patna, Muzaffarpur and Guwahati need to change their preferred examination city and select the one available in the list. The statement further read that “in case of still having more number of applicants in these cities, the candidates may be allotted their second/ third choice of examination city or any other city in the possible nearby area."

Candidate should note that the window for correction of application form is open for the candidates and the same is available till April 1, 2019. There is certain information which applicants can amend in case of a mistake took place in the first time. Note that no duplicate application will be accepted and the candidate can only make the correction in the application form. Details like name, father and mother name, date of birth, category, differently abled category, Paper opted, Subject for Paper, First choice of Exam Centre, the language I and/or II opted for the exam, Address of correspondence and the name of the last Institution/ College/ University, etc.
