CLAT 2019: Last Date to Apply Extended as Exam Date Rescheduled to May 26

Candidates who are going to appear for CLAT 2019 now have to appear for the examination on May 26 after the exam dates being rescheduled. Common Law Admission Test will now be conducted in offline mode across the country on May 26 rescheduled by CLAT Consortium. The official notification is available on the same @clatconsortiumofnlu.ac.in.

CLAT 2019 will now be conducted on May 26, 2019, instead of May 12, 2019, as scheduled earlier.

The decision was taken to reschedule the examination as the same was coinciding with the dates of Lok Sabha Elections 2019 in some of the states. So the board has decided to postpone the examination date to May 26, 2019, from May 12, 2019.

The notice is passed in a meeting held earlier this week in the presence of Convener of CLAT 2019 along with Dr. Faizan Mustafa, President of CLAT Consortium and other distinguished members. The panel has discussed the issues, applicants may face due to the upcoming elections and it will impact the overall examinations.

 Dr. Sri Krishna Deva Rao, the convener of the examination in a media appearance said-

“CLAT 2019 will now be held on May 26 between 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm.”

The students were concerned about the last date to complete CLAT Application Procedure, giving some highlight on the same Dr. Rao further said that-

“In the meeting held today, the CLAT Consortium has taken a decision to extend the CLAT 2019 application deadline till April 15 as we have rescheduled CLAT 2019 on May 26, 2019.”   

The extension of two weeks in the window of the application process of the examination, candidates are now will be able to fill the application form till April 15, 2019.

Candidates qualifying CLAT will be eligible to apply for various law undergraduate and postgraduate course offered at 21 National Law Universities (NLU).
