CAT 2018: Mock Test Released at iimcat.ac.in, Know the detailed information

The Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta has released the Mock Test for the CAT 2018 examination which is scheduled to be conducted on November 25, 2018. The official mock test has been released yesterday i.e. on October 16, 2018 on the official website CAT at iimcat.ac.in. The mock test will provide an idea about the key changes in CAT Exam Pattern for the upcoming examination.

Features of CAT 2018 Mock Test:

  • The mock test released by the IIM Calcutta is a full-length test comprising of 100 questions further divided into three sections. 
  • It provides detailed idea about the actual examination in terms of Syllabus, Exam Pattern, and usage of navigation tools during examination. 
  • VARC section of mock test comprises of 34 questions, whereas DILR and Quant sections carry 34 and 32 questions respectively. 
  • VARC section carries 8 non multiple-choice questions whereas Quant section carries 7 non multiple-choice questions. DILR section carries 6 non multiple-choice questions.

However, the mock test clearly states that there might be difference in the total number of multiple-choice and non multiple-choice questions in the actual CAT 2018 examination.

A new factor which came into consideration while analysing CAT Mock Test 2018 is as following:

Special Feature being introduced:

In order to make the mock test easily accessible for visually impaired candidates, a special feature is being introduced. Due to which the candidates are provided with separate links which means, there are separate mock tests for candidates with normal vision and visually impaired candidates. Such candidates can opt for respective options which includes zoom feature.

  • Always choose the mocks for which maximum number of aspirants appear across the country. 
  • Mock Tests enables the candidate to evaluate his/her performance in the upcoming examination. A good mock test provides a complete idea about the upcoming examination especially the exam pattern. 
  • The mock test will provide you an idea about your weaker side and problems you might face in the actual examination. 

Expected Exam Pattern based on Mock Test:

According to the mock test released by the IIM-Calcutta, the CAT 2018 examination will carry 34 questions (24 MCQs and 8 Non MCQs) on VARC, 32 questions (28 MCQs and 6 Non MCQs) on DILR, and 34 questions (29 MCQs and 7 Non MCQs) on Quant.
