Getting admission in the IIMs has always been possible through the Common Admission Test. With the release of the CAT Answer Key, the candidate would have an opportunity to calculate the percentile. Also, the candidate can also use the CAT Percentile Predictor to help in the calculation of his/her percentile.
If a candidate feels that even a top score might not help him land him the IIMs, he has the choice of applying for some other top B schools that accept CAT scores.

In the year 2017, NIRF (National Institute of Ranking Framework) registered Non-IIM Institutes along with IIMs in top 30 B-Schools of India.
Management Development Institute. Gurgaon
MDI is a very popular and one of the most prominent Business Schools considered one of the best among MBA colleges. MDI was established in 1973 by the Industrial Financial Corporation of India. It currently ranks 16th in NIRF Ranking of the best of the B Schools.
Cutoff: 96-97 Percentile
Placements: MDI Reports 100% placements every year. The average package is INR 18.89LPA for the 2015-17 batch. The Highest Domestic Offer was at INR 28 Lakh.
SP Jain Institute of Management and Research
SPJIMR is another renowned Business School that was established in the year 1981. Being one of the constituent colleges of Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan which is located in Mumbai. It has been ranked 18th in the list of Management Institutes by the NIRF.
SPJIMR considers CAT, XAT and GMAT scores for admission purposes. The Profile and Background of a candidate would be playing an important role in the determination of the candidate at the SPJIMR.
Cutoff: The candidate would be required to score 85 percentile in any one of the tests mentioned above to get selected.
Placement: SPJIMR offers an average package of 20 Lakhs.
National Institute of Industrial Engineering, Mumbai
NITIE, also known as National Institute for Training in Industrial Engineering is ranked on 12th position on the list of best management colleges and 36th among the best institutes for engineering by NIRF.
Cutoff: NITIE cutoff is about 97 percentile for CAT.
Placements: 15-39.5 Lakhs
Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad
IMT is one of the recognized institutes among the top management institutes all over India. The institute being an autonomous body was established in the year 1980. NIRF has ranked the institute in the 24th position in the management rankings.
Admission Criteria: IMT G accepts scores of CAT, XAT and GMAT.
Cutoff: 90-92 percentile
Placements: 11.26-25 Lakhs
Institute of Rural Management, Anand
IRMA, located in Anand is a well-known Business school in the country. IRMA is an autonomous institution and famous for its unique courses in Rural Management, also ranked 29th among B schools by NIRF.

Placements: 10 Lakhs
IMI, New Delhi
This institute is supported by big names like Nestle, ITC, SAIL, Tata Chemicals and BOC.
Admission Criteria: IMI accepts CAT/GMAT scores.
