CAT exam was smoothly conducted on 4th December, 2016. It was held in morning session ( 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.) and an afternoon session (2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.) A lot of experts in the education field have released their own analysis available across multiple web platforms.
Let's do the first slot vs second slot analysis:
First Slot |
Second Slot |
Marking scheme was wrongly mentioned (+1,0.33 instead of 3,-1) |
Marking scheme was mentioned right |
Count in verbal section 34 while 32 was on display |
Verbal section easy but time-consuming |
Tougher than last year and lengthy |
Exam was moderately difficult |
Sigma instead of root symbol in a question |
Quantitative section was tough |
The Logical Reasoning and Data interpretation section was tough |
No question on pie chart or trigonometry |
Overall, the Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation section were tough and tricky while the other two sections were set to moderate difficulty level but consumed a lot of time. There were a few errors in the questions, especially in the quantitative section.
