CAT 2017: Do's and Dont's as on the Exam Day

By: R Chandrakala on November 20, 2017

Common Admission Test is only a week away and aspirants are busy in their final rounds of preparation. CAT is one of the most important exams that aspirants would be very desperate to crack and do well in the same. Aspirants could also go in for either a do or die situation in the course of preparation for CAT.

At the CAT Center that is assigned for candidates giving the exam, the candidate is expected to carry only two things -

UPSC IES Result 2017

CAT Admit card: Candidates can download their admit card for Common Admission Test from the official website by 25 November or 26 November. However, do not keep you admit card download reserved for the D-day as that might increase your anxiety levels.

ID Proof: Candidates are required to carry any one of their ID Proofs such as Aadhaar Card, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, UID Card and Driver Licence.

The following should not be carried into the CAT Examination Hall:

  1. Electronics such as Mobile Phone, Calculator and Watch are not allowed inside the examination center.
  2. CAT is a Computer Based Test and there is no point in carrying any stationery inside the examination hall.
  3. Any kind of bags, pouches or purses would not be carried to the CAT Exam center.
  4. Do not carry water bottles to the examination hall as water would already be provided in the examination hall.

The following are a few things in mind that the student must keep in mind before the exam:

  1. The candidates should have a smart approach by attempting the questions you know in order to maximize your attempt.
  2. CAT Exam aspirants are tested on the basis of verbal, quantitative, reading comprehension and data interpretation. More than retaining calculations and formulae, the candidates should make their concepts clear.
  3. The concentration levels in the CAT Exam should be maintained at the time of attempting the exam over a period of 3 hours.
  4. CAT is highly competitive and not tough. CAT Exam Pattern should be understood by the candidates and practiced better in order to do well.

The Common Admission test would be held on November 26, 2017. The candidates in their final week should ensure that they revise on the concepts they already know and not starting in preparation for newer topics. That would further make preparation complicated and the candidates would not end up remembering anything at the last moment of the CAT examination.
