Most of the Common Admission Test Aspirants are of the view that once they score the required CAT Percentile and get into the desired B school, they are on Cloud 9. However, the truth is that these are brief theoretical goals that are set by various candidates to achieve short-term goals and a significant amount of time is not spent by them in understanding where they want to end up being for actual.
Once the MBA course gets over, the candidates might get into a job which they just do not like and would be spending a significant amount of time in going through that course and identifying a job that they really love. Instead of making statements like:
" I would be proud of making to IIMs this year "
Think of something on the lines of
" I would want to specialize in an X area of expertise and work in that field" would have some direction set in place."
In order to fulfill the requirements of the first statement, a candidate would go on to the extent of extra-curricular activities, stop living their life and exercise a significant amount of time in studying leaving other thoughts apart. Every minute through is spent on taking advice from every known source to know as to what it actually takes to get admitted into that Top Notch B-School.
Instead of making this run to MBA like a rat race, do not forget your individuality. Instead of making it seem like why they need you, decide on if you need them at all, it would be for what purpose. More than spending your time on deciding to be successful, spend time on deciding to be in a successful field that would be of your interest.
Spend time on knowing your field of interest, speaking to associated people to know the scale and scope of growth in such job opportunities. Set a roadmap to get there and make CAT, MBA course and honing your personality for your job in the course of it, so that you do not regret your choice of the field that you work in. By the time you would have finished your MBA, you would be in your field of interest and determining opportunities to scale up your work and grow high up in the authority chain.
This kind of vision would help candidates have an eye for the bigger picture and not give up in spite of failures in clearing the CAT Examination or getting to that most wanted institution. Learning and Perseverance have always proved as key reasons for any person to succeed in a particular field in order to excel.
Attitude and the right kind can help you steer through competitive and negative situations to end up being wherever you want to be. Have a very positive attitude that would help you think of alternatives whenever you fail. The more you help yourself in getting up and moving forward, the more successful and mature you would emerge in your field.
