CAT Admit Card 2017

The CAT Official website should be visited on a regular basis to ensure candidates stay updated on the same. The candidates have a month more to go for the Common Admission Test. The CAT would be a Computer Based Test. CAT is an eligibility test that is conducted for determining admission to flagship management programmes at various Indian Institutes of Management and other Top Management Schools of the country. Candidates who clear Common Admission Test have to clear subsequent rounds before getting admitted into Indian Institutes of Management. Every IIM has a unique set of eligibility criteria and selection procedure.

About 2.3 Lakh students have registered for Common Admission Test this year to be held on November 26 in two sessions. The deadline for CAT Registration was extended to ensure a higher number of candidates register for the Common Admission Test. CAT 2017 is slated to be held across 140 cities. The CAT would be consisting of three sections namely - Verbal Ability, Data Interpretation and Quantitative Ability.

Candidates would also be given a basic on-screen calculator for computational purposes. They would be allotted about 60 minutes for answering questions section wise and would not be able to switch from one section to another while answering the questions in a particular section.

IIM shall also be releasing a tutorial to enable the candidates to have an understanding of the exam format. Candidates are advised to refer to the same. The selection procedure for IIMs usually consists of the following: Written Ability Test, Group Discussion, Personal Interviews. By clearing CAT, candidates become eligible for admission across 20+IIMs in the country.

In order to ensure a sense of equity in comparison of performance across various candidates and different sessions, the scores of the candidates get subjected to a process of normalization. The Normalization procedure usually adjusts for location and scale differences across various forms.
