The ideal BITSAT Score is usually above 320 and any score above 350 is considered phenomenal. If a student aims at grabbing some top branches, the above-mentioned scores are required to be achieved. Here are a few preparation tips for candidates:
Go for Concept-based questions
The candidates should ensure that they attempt concept-based short questions which would require them to have formulae and equations at their fingertips. Most of the questions in the Examination are formula based.
Managing Time
The candidates should focus on managing their time well. Candidates who solve questions accurately and quickly would be able to score well. In BITSAT, the number of questions are more than JEE Main. The candidates should put themselves through a routine wherein they use time resourcefully and strategize around maximizing their attempts.
Dividing Time across sections
Out of a duration of 3 hours, the candidates must apportion their time accordingly across various sections and to the maximum, stick to the time limit and not exceed the same. Questions from English and Logical Reasoning mostly require analysis and no calculation. Every section can be given an average time of about 30-45 minutes.
Mock Test Simulation
BITSAT 2018 is an online examination and candidates who are used to the pen and paper approach experience a lot of difference in case of giving the test online. The lack of capability to refer to questions of choice makes online tests a lot challenging. The candidates would be given a lot of rough sheets for practice. The candidates should equip their preparation with mock test series to understand the sufficient difference from a written examination.
Attempting Bonus Questions
This is the only examination that provides candidates with bonus questions. Along with a total of 150 questions, students can attempt an extra of 12 questions. Once the candidate opts for bonus questions, answers to the 150 questions have to be submitted and the candidate cannot revert to review the answers.
Negative Marking of 1/3
For every wrong answer, 1/3 marks would be deducted. Compared to a complete negative mark for JEE Main, this might look lesser, but in the event of a large number of questions, the same cannot be ignored.
Candidates who have a prior understanding of the BITSAT exam pattern can have an edge over other candidates appearing in the BITSAT exam. The BITSAT exam pattern comprises information relating to the distribution of marks, the duration of the BITSAT exam, and the types of questions one can expect in
