Better Pay Packages for Post Graduates of IITs and NITs

IIT Jam 2019 was conducted yesterday across the country in two sessions for admission in two years M.Sc., Joint M.Sc. - Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, and other postgraduate degree programmes. Soon after the commencement of examinations many statements from the academicians have been released and one such statement which is making round of news is the one made by P Venkateshwarlu, Principal of Kakatiya Government College, Hanamkonda where he mentioned that students pursuing postgraduate degree from IITs and NITs have a strong chance to avail high paying jobs in future and he hopes more and more students should get enrolled this year.

Addressing the students at the valedictory programme of the 40-day free coaching programme for IIT-Jam (Joint Admission Test for M Sc) 2019, on February 8, 2019, organized by the Department of Chemistry, Kakatiya Government College, Mr. Venkateshwarlu said that-

“If a student gets MSc seat in institutes such as IITs or NITs, they will get better exposure and will enjoy better facilities. Postgraduates from such institutes get better pay packages when compared to pass outs from a State University.”

B Suresh Babu, in-charge of Department of Chemistry and Vice-Principal of Kakatiya Government College also gave his opinion that there will be an award of Rs. 1 lakh is given by Commissioner of Collegiate Education for the student enrolled in any government college and gets a seat in any Central Organization. He also mentioned that syllabus for the upcoming examination has already been covered for Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, and Physical Chemistry.

B Ramesh, programme coordinator accepted the fact that there is a large group of students who are not aware that IITs and NITs also offer M.Sc degree.

“An awareness programme about IIT-Jam 2019 was conducted inviting resource persons from NIT, Warangal. The students were encouraged to apply for Jam. In addition to the students of Kakatiya Government College, students from Pingle Government College and University Arts and Science College also attended the programme.” – He added further.

In the 40-day intense learning programme, special focus was given on educating the students and motivating them through lectures given by eminent like E Surender (a retired principal) and S Jyothi (NSS programme coordinator of Kakatiya University). Weekend tests were conducted and students were guided to do better. The classes were arranged in free time like weekends and holidays so that no regular classes should be hampered.
