Analysis of FEB MAT 2017 Online Exam

The MAT examination for Feb was conducted on 11th Feb 2017, The online mode of examination was conducted in three slots. the pattern of the examination went under severe changes if we compare it to previous year exams.
Language Comprehension
This section has questions on Reading Comprehension. In Feb exam there were four passages of about with five questions each, which were almost of the same pattern. There were three questions each on Fill in the blanks, OWO and Antonyms. The sentences were given in the jumbled form which had to be rearranged first before arriving at the correct antonym or the odd word, which made these questions a little time-consuming. After these, there were four questions each on Para Jumbles and Summary. In Grammar, there were only three questions on Sentence Correction. Most of the candidates found this section easy but time-consuming.
Intelligence and Critical Reasoning
This section covered all the topics which are there in the syllabus such as – Number/Alphabetical series, Linear/Circular Arrangements, Blood Relations, etc. VR comprised questions on Analogy, Cause and Effect, Assertion, and Reason and Statement Conclusion. This section was bit on the moderate side.
Mathematical Skills
This section was on the moderate level which included questions from Arithmetic, Number System, Geometry and Mensuration, Probability and Set Theory with a maximum number of questions appearing from Arithmetic. few questions for this section were little confusing for the appearing candidates.
Data Analysis and Sufficiency
This was one of the most difficult sections in the online exam which consisted of 30 questions from Data Interpretation based on different graphs. Remaining of the questions were on Data Sufficiency, Data Comparison etc.
Indian and Global Environment
This section was filled with questions from Current Affairs. This section was pretty easy if the candidate has a brief knowledge of the current affairs. The questions were based mostly on Business Awareness, Politics, Sports, Books, and Authors, etc.
