AIIMS MBBS 2018: A Detailed Paper Analysis

AIIMS 2018 examination was conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences- New Delhi on May 26 and May 27, 2018 in two shifts i.e. the morning and the evening shifts through online mode. TheAIIMS MBBS entrance examination is conducted to provide admissions to 807 MBBS seats offered by AIIMS New Delhi, Patna, Bhopal, Jodhpur, Bhubaneshwar, Rishikesh, Raipur, Guntur and Nagpur.

The examination was moderate on difficulty level, but the students have mixed reaction. The AIIMS 2018 Question Paper comprised of 200 questions which included 60 questions each from Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Out of which, 40 were Objective Type questions and remaining 20 were Assertion-Reasoning questions. The Question Paper also carried 20 questions from General Knowledge and Aptitude. This section also included questions such as the Name of Lok Sabha Speaker, Mobile Signal Recognition and the meaning of IMEI Number.

AIIMS 2018 Marking Scheme-

The candidate will be rewarded with additional one mark for each correct answer and one-third of a mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

AIIMS 2018 Paper Level-

The AIIMS 2018 examination was moderate on the difficulty level. The Physics section was the toughest in AIIMS MBBS entrance examination this year which was followed by Chemistry and Logical Reasoning on the difficulty level. The Biology section was easiest in the question paper and all the questions of Biology were from NCERT Textbooks. General Knowledge, Aptitude and Logical Thinking questions were quite easy this year.

Physics- The Physics section was little difficult for the students with very lengthy and tricky calculations. The students also used screen calculators in few questions. Few questions in this section required logical thinking and involved little creativity also. This section was time-consuming.

Chemistry- This section was between moderate to easy and did not involve many reaction-based questions. However, the language of few questions was quite difficult which confused the students. The paper was based on NCERT Textbook.

Biology- This section was the easiest in the AIIMS 2018 paper and was entirely based on NCERT. It also involved questions asked through the diagram.

AIIMS 2018 Result is scheduled to be released on June 18, 2018 followed by AIIMS 2018 Couselling from June 3, 2018.

Deepanshu Bajpai an aspirant said, “I found the exam difficult. The Physics section was very lengthy and involved a lot of calculations.”

Anjali Sharma of Kendriya Vidayala said, “The Biology section was the easiest and I am confident about scoring good marks.”
