The biggest confusion in the aspirants about the latest Common National entrance exam for medical and dental colleges was the three attempt criteria. As NEET recently took over all the medical and dental exams across India as the central exam for admission in all the medical colleges. After the order from Supreme Court, only JIPMER and AIIMS are the only exams to be held for admission in medical colleges. As per the new criteria, a candidate can write NEET only three times which was turning into a chaos in itself as a lot of students were confused if their first trial in 2016 will be considered or not. So the answer in No, your attempt in 2017 will be considered as the first attempt for NEET. A general category student can give exam up till the age of 25, and for reserved categories, it is 30 years
