NDA exam has certain Conditions of Eligibility that an aspiring candidate needs to fulfil to appear for the NDA exam. The eligibility requirements are explicitly mentioned by the UPSC for the candidates filling the Online application form. Here are the Eligibility criteria basis-

Here are the basis of NDA Eligibility criteria-
 
  • Nationality
  • Age Limit, Sex and Marital Status
  • Educational Qualifications
  • Physical Standards
1) Nationality:
 
  • The candidate shall be a citizen of India.
  • The candidate can be a citizen of Nepal and Bhutan for which the Government of India has certified in favor of the person except for the Gorkha subjects of the Nepal.
  • The candidate can be a Tibetan refugee migrated before 1962 with intent to permanently settled in India.
2) Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status:
 
  • Only unmarried candidates are eligible to apply for the NDA exam.
  • The year of Birth of the candidate must not be lower than 1999 and must not be higher than 2002.
  • The date of birth of the candidate must be mentioned in the Matriculation Exam certificate. The commission will only consider the matriculation certificate as the proof of Date of Birth.
  • The candidate must undertake not to marry until the completion of the Training.
 
3) Educational Qualifications:

 

  • For Army wing of NDA- 12th class pass based on 10+2 pattern of the examination conducted by the CBSE, State Education Board or any other educational board recognized by the Government of India will be accepted.
  • For Airforce and Naval Wing of NDA- 12th class pass based 10+2 pattern of the examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects conducted by the CBSE, State Education Board or any other educational board recognized by the Government of India will be accepted.
  • Candidates who are studying in 10+2 based on the conditioned above can also apply for the NDA exam for the respective wing as per the educational eligibility.
  • The candidates who fail to produce Marticulation/10+2 or equivalent certificate at the time of SSB have to forward the duly self-attested to the Army Headquarter and Naval Headquarter in New Delhi last by the date mentioned by UPSC.
  • Candidates studying in 11th class can't appear in NDA exam.
  • Candidates debarred by the Defence Ministry to join any services under the Ministry of Defence are not eligible to apply.
  • The candidate who could not clear the PABT/INSB test in the earlier attempt is not eligible for the Indian Air Force.
 
4) Physical Standards:
 
  • The candidates must be physically fit as per the standards set by the NDA. The candidates will be subjected to Physical and Medical examination at the time of SSB which the candidate must pass to join the NDA.
  • The candidates who had earlier withdrawn or resigned on disciplinary grounds from any Armed Forces academies are not eligible to apply.
