Getting into any of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) is a dream for a lot of students and to pursue the same every year thousands of students apply for the exams that can ensure their entry to these colleges. It is quite unfortunate that a lot of the students are unaware of the fact that candidates other than engineering aspirants can also be a part of the greatest institutions of the country and can pursue M.Sc. and Dual Degree M.Sc. + Ph.D. and other postgraduate degree courses from that. JEE Advanced is not the only way to be a part of IITs, the candidate can also take IIT JAM and make their way to the top colleges of India.

Joint Admission Test for M.Sc (JAM) is an annual examination conducted by the IITs of different zones in the rotation to select potential talent of the country who aspire to continue post-graduation degree in the field of Science.

Candidates who appeared for IIT JAM 2019 are waiting for the IIT JAM Selection Process to start needs to tote a few important key factors post examination to ensure not to miss anything. The exam was conducted on February 10, 2019.

  • IIT JAM 2019 Question and Response key was made available on February 19, 2019, on the official website. Aspirant needs to log in through The JAM 2019 Online Application Processing System by filling the required details like Enrolment ID and Password. On successful submission of details, candidates will be able to see their respective question papers and the marked responses.
  • Candidates will also be able to check JAM 2019 question paper and answer key made available on the website in pdf format from February 25, 2019. The pdf will consist of all the answers of questions asked in the examination in both the sessions. Session 1 of IIT JAM had papers on Biological Sciences (BL), Mathematics (MA) and Physics (PH) followed by Session 2, consisting of papers in Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG) and Mathematical Statistics (MS).
  • Tie Break in IIT JAM: In the national level entrance examinations like IIT JAM, there can be scenarios where more than one candidate have the same overall score. In that case, the tie break will be used to determine the merit and allotment of seat. It is done as per the ratio of positive and negative marking and allotting the higher rank to the one with the highest ratio. In case both the candidate have the same ratio, the same rank will be allotted.
  • IIT JAM 2019 Result as per the notification of IIT Kharagpur will be announced on March 20, 2019. Candidates appeared for the examination can visit the JOAPS to check their scorecard.
  • IIT JAM 2019 Rank and Merit List are scheduled to be released on April 5, 2019. Candidate should note that the rank displayed will be All India Rank (AIR) in the scorecard. Candidates will be selected on basis of these rankings and required cutoff of the courses. The scorecard will be available for download until July 31, 2019.
  • Candidates having scored equal or more marks from the listed qualifying marks will be considered qualified and these candidates can apply by filling the application form on JAM official website from April 11 to April 24, 2019.
  • The final list of the selected candidates will be released three times in installments. The first list of qualified candidates will be released on June 3, 2019, followed by the second and third list published on June 18, 2019, and July 1, 2019, respectively. The admission list will consist the name of institute candidate selected for, course, paper, opening and closing ranks of all candidates applied under general, OBC, SC, ST, PwD candidates.
