Exam pattern is one of the most important aspects of a competitive examination. To clear the exam, the candidate must be well aware of the features of the IBPS Po Exam pattern. Without a clear insight of Exam pattern, the direction of preparation may get distorted.

IBPS PO is an online examination and is conducted in three parts-

  • IBPS Preliminary Examination
  • IBPS Main Examination
  • Interview

Here are the detailed provisions of the IBPS PO 2019. The candidate will be provided with the information about the topics that are asked in the IBPS Po prelims and mains exam. The candidates will also be acquainted with the number of questions and marks of each section that comes in the IBPS PO exam paper.

IBPS PO  will be conducted in two levels Tier 1 and 2 (Preliminary & Mains). There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer. However, no marks will be awarded or deducted for unattempted questions.

The total duration of the test is 1 hour. The candidates must clear the cut off in each section individually.

The total duration of the test is 3 hours +  30 minutes (Note:- 30 minutes for the subjective part). There has been a slight change in the pattern of the Mains exam this year. A time limit has been imposed for each section. The candidate will not be able to move on to the next section until the time limit for that section has elapsed. Also, Computer knowledge section is merged with Reasoning Ability and a subjective paper of Letter Writing and Essay in the English language of 25 marks has been added.

IBPS PO INTERVIEW

Candidates who have cleared the cut-off for the Mains exam have to appear for a face to face interview. The candidates need a minimum of 40% to qualify for the interview. The interview will test the candidate's general knowledge, awareness, and confidence. They must carry themselves to prove themselves worthy of this job.

The final merit list is prepared on the basis of the candidate's performance in the IBPS PO Mains exam and the interview.
