IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria totally depends on the guidelines of IBPS. The aspirants of IBPS PO exam has to fulfil the basic eligibility criteria in order to apply for the IBPS PO exam. 

Eligibility for IBPS-PO

  • Citizenship: The aspiring Candidate of IBPS PO must be a citizen of India or candidate can be a resident of Bhutan/Nepal or a Tibetan refugee, however in that case candidate's ancestors should have with an intention of permanently settling in India, moved to India before 1st January 1962.
  • The Candidate must have a bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized University.
  • The candidate must have valid certificates to prove his claim of completing graduation degree, the certificate should mention the date of qualifying the exam along with the total marks obtained by the candidate. 
  • The Candidate must have a relevant job experience or a professional degree.
  • Aspirants who are either in the final year of their bachelor's degree or awaiting graduation results are not eligible.
  • Age criteria: Candidate's age should not be less than 20 years and more than 30 years at the time of registration.

In special cases, IBPS PO Eligibility criteria involve certain age relaxation rules. Below is the table representing the age relaxation guidelines as directed by IBPS for the candidates applying through the reserved categories:

Regular employees of the Union Carbide Factory, Bhopal 5 Years
Persons ordinarily domiciled in the state of J&K 5 Years

Note:- Candidate's age applying through unreserved category should not be more than 30 years and less than 20 years at the time of registration.

There are some differences in the eligibility criteria of the IBPS PO, IBPS PO  Specialist exam and IBPS RRB.

Bachelor's degree (4 Year) in Agriculture/Horticulture//Veterinary Science/Dairy Science/Agro-Forestry/Animal Husbandry/Agri Engineering/Fishery Science/Agri Marketing & Cooperation/Cooperation & Banking.

Rajbhasha Adhikari (Scale I)

Min- 20 Years

Max- 30 Years

Postgraduate degree in Hindi with English as one of the subject at graduation level.

or

Postgraduate degree in Sanskrit with English and Hindi mandatory subjects.

Law Officer (Scale I)

Min- 20 Years

Max- 30 Years

Bachelor's degree in Law and must have enrolled as an advocate with the bar council.
HR/ Personnel Officer (Scale I)

Min- 20 Years

Max- 30 Years

Postgraduate degree in personnel management/HR/HRD/ Industrial Relations/Social work/Labour Law
Marketing Officer (Scale I)

Min- 20 Years

Max- 30 Years

Graduate and Full-time MMS (Marketing)/MBA (Marketing)/ Full time 2 years PGDBA

IBPS Regional Rural Bank Exam

  • Preferences would be given to Agriculture/Horticulture/Animal Husbandry/Veterinary Science/Dairy Science/Agri Engineering/Fishery Science/Agri Marketing & Cooperation/Cooperation & Banking/Agro-Forestry/Law/Economics
  • Proficiency in the local language as prescribed by the participating RRBs.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of computer skills

 

Officer (Scale II)

General Banking Officer

Two years as an officer in the bank or financial institution
  • Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institute with minimum 50% marks aggregate.
  • Preferences would be given to Banking/Agriculture/Horticulture/Animal Husbandry/Veterinary Science/Dairy Science/Agri Engineering/Fishery Science/Agri Marketing & Cooperation/Cooperation & Banking/Agro-Forestry/Law/Economics/Finance/Marketing/Accountancy

Officer (Scale II)

Specialist Officer

one year and two years for Law Officer and Agricultural Officer Information Technology Officer
  • A bachelor's degree in Electronics/Communications/Information Technology/Computer Science or its equivalent from a recognized university or institute with minimum 50% marks.
  • Certificate in ASP,PHP,C++, Java,VB,VC,OCP etc.

Chartered Accountant

Certified Associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Law Officer

A bachelor's degree in Law from a recognized university or institute with minimum 50%marks.

Treasury Manager

Certified Associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or MBA in finance from a recognized university or institute.

Marketing Officer

MBA in Marketing from a recognized university or institute.

Agricultural Officer

Degree in Agriculture/Horticulture/Animal Husbandry/Veterinary Science/Dairy Science/Agri Engineering/Fishery Science/Agri Marketing & Cooperation/Cooperation & Banking/Agro-Forestry

Officer (Scale III) Five years as an officer in the Bank or financial institution
  • Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institute with minimum 50% marks aggregate.
  • Preferences would be given to Banking/Agriculture/Horticulture/Animal Husbandry/Veterinary Science/Dairy Science/Agri Engineering/Fishery Science/Agri Marketing & Cooperation/Cooperation & Banking/Agro Forestry/Law/Economics/Finance/Marketing/Accountancy
