Swami Vivekananda Institute of Science and Technology, popularly known as SVIST, is an engineering college established in 2008 in Kolkata. The college comes under the aegis of the Swami Vivekananda Group of Institutes. It is affiliated to the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Admission in the courses offered by the SVIST is merit and entrance based. For B. Tech candidates must have a valid score in JEE Mains/WBJEE, whereas admission in MBA depends upon percentile acquired in CAT/GMAT/XAT followed by a Written Ability Test (WAT) and personal interview. The rest of the programs such as BTTM, BCA, BBA, BSc, MSc, etc are merit based.
