Late Narayan Meghaji Lokhande Maharashtra Institute of Labour Studies (LNML MILS) or Maharashtra Institute of Labour Studies came into existence in 1947. It is affiliated to the University of Mumbai and approved by the Government of Maharashtra. For the previous seven decades it has spent developing industry professionals in the domains of labour welfare, industrial relations, personnel management, and human resources development. Only Labor Welfare was initially the subject of study; later, the emphasis was changed to Industrial Relations and Personnel Management.

 Maharashtra Institute of Labour Studies courses include Masters in Labour Studies (MLS), Diploma in Trade Unionism & Industrial Relations and PhD. MLS course is a two year program affiliated to the University of Mumbai, whereas Diploma course is a 9 month full time course. 

Selection procedure for MLS - A written exam in MCQ format with Quantitative Questions serves as the basis for shortlisting and choosing candidates. English verbal ability, diagrammatic understanding, general knowledge on Maharashtra are some of the aspects that students are selected upon.

Admission in Maharashtra Institute of Labour Studies is based on a written examination, consisting of ASK Test, Essay Writing & General Knowledge followed by group discussion and personal interview. To apply for admission :
