Madras Institute of Technology (MIT), Chennai commenced its establishment in the academic year of 1949 by C. Rajam. The college has been affiliated to Anna University, Chennai and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The college has also been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The college offers various programs across several specializations at the undergraduate level and postgraduate level. The college offers B. E., B. Tech, M. E., M. Tech, M. Sc, M. Phil, and Ph. D. It is also the first institute in India to offer postgraduate program in Mechatronics, and Avionics. Madras Institute of Technology has been awarded by Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE). Madras Institute of Technology takes admission in BE/B. Tech program based upon marks obtained in TNEA. For admission in M. Tech/ME, M. Sc, M.
