The JEE Main Registration window for the session 2 exam is already open, and the deadline to apply is March 2, 2024. Further, JEE Main Session 2exam will be held between Apr 4, 2024, and Apr 15, 2024, and the result will be declared on Apr 25, 2024.
TheIIT JAM 2024exam results will be revealed on March 22, 2024.
In addition, the GATE 2024 cutoff and results will be revealed on March 25, 2024.
The CEED Cut-off 2024 for Part A has been released for M.Des admission. The average and standard deviation for Part-A (CEED 2024) are 41.90 and 16.72, respectively. Furthermore, the CEED 2024 results will be announced on March 6, 2024.
IIT Roorkee MBA admissions for 2024are currently open. The institute will announce the list of shortlisted candidates for interviews in the last week of February. The interview will be conducted in the last week of March and the first week of April 2024.

IIT Roorkee History: IIT Roorkee is India’s oldest engineering college, which was converted into the league of the IITs in the year 2001. It was set up as the College of Civil Engineering in British India back in 1847 by James Thompson the Lieutenant-Governor of the North-Western Province. Interestingly, the primary reason for the establishment was to train officers and surveyors who were engaged in constructing the Ganges Canal. IIT Roorkee was renamed in 1854 after the demise of Thomason’s death and the completion of the canal the college was given the name of Thomason College of Civil Engineering by Proby Cautley, who was the designer and projector of the canal. It further changed its name to the University of Roorkee in 1949, and it was finally given the name IIT Roorkee in the year 2001. IIT Roorkee is an autonomous institute recognized by the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and spread across 365 acres of campus land.

The IIT Roorkee Courseshave undergone a lot of changes. The Electrical Engineering department was added to the college only in the year 1897 and the master’s courses in architecture or the (M. Arch.) were instituted only in 1969–70. Some years later in the year 1978, the IIT Roorkee which was then called the University of Roorkee was merged with the Institute of Paper Technology.
IIT Roorkee Institute accepts students into BTech, BArch and integrated MSc integrated MTech courses based on their JEE scores. Earlier when IIT Roorkee was not part of IIT the students had to go through the Roorkee Entrance Exam (REE) to get admission into the institute. The selection rate for the exam was close to 0.25%, hence it was considered the second hardest exam after IIT-JEE. GATE scores are used for Admission to PG programs in engineering and architecture in addition to a written test and interview. For PG programs in fundamental sciences, IIT JAM score is considered. For admission into the MBA, the CAT scores are considered for admission along with interviews.
Along with the engineering courses, the Indian Institute of Technology also offers a two-year residential MBA program for which the admissions, starting in 2011, will be done based on the Common Admission Test, thus replacing the Joint Management Entrance Test (JMET) previously conducted by the IITs. The institute also offered an interdisciplinary program in computer applications leading to a degree in Master of Computer Applications (MCA). The standalone MCA course has been removed from the courses.
IIT Roorkee Admission to various courses is primarily determined by entrance exams. The JEE Advance exam for admission in B.Tech courses. For admission to the Architecture course, the students have to submit the NATA(National Aptitude Test in Architecture)scores. The admissions in the M.Tech courses of the IIT Roorkee are based on the scores gained by the students in the GATE(Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering)exam. Admission to the Postgraduate programs in fundamental sciences is made based on IIT-JAM, and admissions to MBA are made through the CAT exam. IIT Roorkee currently has 23 academic departments that together offer more than 65 courses leading to undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees. Along with a few integrated and dual degree courses in the fields of Engineering, Science, Architecture, Management, and Social Sciences. Two new postgraduate programmes (PGP) have just been launched at IIT Roorkee, namely the Masters in Design (Industrial Design) and the Masters in Innovation Management. In addition, IITR has begun two online certificate programmes in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

IIT Roorkee Hostel
Every hostel at IIT Roorkee has a cutting-edge Cyber Cafe which is run by the students themselves. All hostels are fully WiFi-linked. The IIT Roorkee hostels are called Bhawans and each bhawans hosts its separate canteen. And all of this takes place in the world’s serene, beautiful, unparalleled surroundings.
