About IIM Sambalpur:
Indian Institute of Management, Sambalpur is one of the baby IIMs established recently in 2015. It is part of the third generation of IIMs in our country, approved by the government of India. It is mentored by none other than IIM Indore and was registered as a society on the 19th of August 2015 under the Societies and Registration Act, XXI of 1860. Despite being a fairly young IIM, it has already been ranked 61st in the NIRF ranking 2021 amongst other major league management institutes, with an overall score of 46.17. It has also been recognized as the ‘Institute of National Importance.’
IIM Sambalpur offers students PG, doctoral, and MDP management programs, including MBA, Ph.D., E-Ph.D., and MDP. According to the official website, E-MBA will be available soon. The institute is currently mentored by IIM Indore and was registered as a society on August 19, 2015, under the Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860. During this mentorship period, representatives from numerous IIMs and premier institutes are invited to design the overall quality and delivery of PGP to meet the expected standards, with direct involvement from IIM Indore.
This institute’s current campus is located at Jyoti Vihar, Burla, Sambalpur, and Odisha. However, the Government of Odisha has already allotted this institute over 237 acres of land in Basantpur, which will serve as its permanent campus. Its location, surrounded by a broad spectrum of industries such as MCL, Hindalco, Vedanta, TATA, and NTPC, among others, provides students with real-life experiential learning opportunities.
