Gandhi Medical College Details

Gandhi Medical College (GMC) was established in the academic year of 1955 in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh with the help of state government. The college was declared as an ‘Autonomous' body in 1997. It is one of the oldest and prestigious medical colleges of MP. the college is affiliated to Barkatullah University and is approved by Medical Council of India. The idea of establishing the college was to provide medical education to the interested students. GMC started its journey with its first batch of 50 students and 2 departments namely Anatomy and Physiology in the college.

The infrastructure of GMC is spread in Fort of Fatehgarh (Madhya Pradesh). The campus is composed of several houses and all the essential facilities are built in the campus itself.

  • The college has a central auditorium, four lecture theatres, four examination halls, Boys' common room, Girls' common room, central library and sports complex
  • The classrooms are spacious and large enough. Some of the classrooms have projectors installed for students welfare
  • Few of the main features that attract students are Lawn Tennis court, Badminton court and Basketball court
  • There is one newly constructed fully air conditioned modern lecture theatre which is well projected with a projector and helps in better understanding of the subjects
  • The central library is housed in the main building of the college. Best part of the library is that it is constructed in the underground floor of the building. It is fully air conditioned
  • It has three halls for studying, central library room, reading room, journal section and computer room
  • Residential facilities include senior Girls' hostel, senior Boys' hostel, PG Boys' hostel, Junior Boys' hostel, intern Girls' hostel, PG Girls' hostel, Nurse hostel and residence for teachers and professors
  • The cafeteria offers great ambience and also gives great quality of food. The food they serve is hygienic and made with pure products

The admission process involves a few easy steps. The candidates are required to visit the official portal of Department of Medical Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh. There they need to register themselves for NEET Madhya Pradesh State Counseling.

  • Candidates should register themselves by visiting the official portal of DME
  • There, they can choose the course and college they are interested in and finally lock in the preferences
  • Seat is allotted online based upon the vacancy and choice of the candidates
  • The candidates who have been allotted seats are required to visit the college and complete the admission formalities

 

Educational qualification

  • For undergraduate courses the candidates are required to have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually with a minimum of 50 % marks in aggregate
  • For postgraduate courses, candidates are required to have graduated MBBS
