Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is conducted every year by XLRI on behalf of
Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI). For the last 60 years, XLRI has been conducting the XAT exam for the admission to post graduate management courses in 11 XAT member institutions. Apart from that over 150
B-Schools accept XAT scores for admission into their management programs.

XAT Exam is usually conducted during the first Sunday of January each year. The official notification for
XAT 2018 is expected to be released by the last week of July by XLRI, the conducting body. Around 90,000 applicants apply for this exam every year.
XAT 2018 dates are fixed and will be conducted as per the schedule.
XAT 2018 ELIGIBILITY:

The candidates must have completed their graduation in any discipline with passing marks.

The degree must be at least three year's duration or its equivalent.

Students in the final year of their graduation can also apply, provided they complete their graduation degree by June of the exam year.
XAT 2018 EXAM PATTERN:
Time Duration- 3 hours 30 minutes (10:00 am to 1:30 pm)

XAT Marking Scheme:

All questions carry equal marks.

1/4th Marks are deducted for every wrong answer.

0.05 marks are deducted for every question left unanswered after 12 unanswered questions.
XAT 2018 SYLLABUS:
XAT is considered as one of the toughest exams for admission into a management program. One major reason is that its syllabus isn't defined. Neither the conducting body nor the participating institutes have formally announced its syllabus. However, judging by the past year question papers, a syllabus for XAT 2018 has been designed to
prepare for XAT 2018:
1) Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension, and Logical Reasoning-

English vocabulary, synonyms, fill in the blanks.

Sentence and paragraph completion.
-
Reading passages on any topic like abstract, literature, politics, economic, etc.
-
Judgment on analogy, clocks, calendar, fact judgment, blood relations, etc.
2) Decision Making-

This is a unique section since no other management exam comprises this section

There are questions on conditions and grouping test, data arrangement test, complex arrangements and decision making in a critical situation.
3) Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation-
-
Arithmetic carries major Weightage in this section with questions from topics like Profit Loss, Percentage, Ratio and Proportion, Work and Time, etc.

Algebra, Geometry, Venn diagrams
XAT 2018 APPLICATION FORM:

The entire registration process will be completely online. The forms for XAT 2018 are expected to release by the last week of August. To register, visit the official website to create an account and get your unique XAT ID and registration.

The form can be completed using the same XAT ID and password.

The candidate will then be required to fill in all the essential details like name, address, educational qualifications and work experience.

He/she also needs to choose his preferred test centre and upload a scanned photograph and signature less than 1 MB. Save the confirmation page for all future correspondence.
Since the exam is conducted by XLRI, the form also has an additional option for applying directly to the four MBA programs offered by the prestigious XLRI-

The candidate has to choose the program at XLRI that he/she wants to pursue at the time of filling the form. They may skip this option if they don't wish to apply to any of the programs offered by XLRI.
XAT 2018 APPLICATION FEE:
The students can submit the application form over a range of two time periods. The application fee will vary depending on the stage that you submit the form.
Early Application Fees-
XAT- 1600 INR
PER XLRI COURSE- 300 INR
Late Application Fees-
XAT- 2000 INR
PER XLRI COURSE- 500 INR
Mode of Payment:

The application fees can be paid online, through a demand draft or even through cash.

Online: Visa/Master/Credit / Debit card/Net banking (Only for IDBI bank account holders)

Demand Draft: A Demand Draft payable in favour of XLRI Jamshedpur can be sent.

Cash: The fee can be paid in cash at the nearest IDBI Bank with the XAT Pay In Slip available after filling in the form.
XAT ADMIT CARD 2018:
XAT Admit Card 2018 will be available by the last week of December. The candidates have to download the admit card by entering their registration number and date of birth. The students have to download the Online admit card and take out the printed copy of it as the authorities will not send any hard copy to the candidates by post. The admit card will contain test centre name and address along with the personal credentials. Some important instructions related to the exam will also be mentioned on the admit card of XAT 2018.
XAT TEST CENTRES 2018:
In 2017, XAT was conducted in 47 cities all over India. There were two international centres as well- Dubai and Kathmandu. Although major cities in India has XAT test centres, but to conduct the XAT exam more conveniently, XLRI Jamshedpur aims to increase the number of test centres to make it convenient for anybody willing to take the exam.
XAT RESULT 2018:
The
XAT results will be announced by the last week of January 2018. The scorecard will be available on the official website of XAT. It will mention the section wise score of the candidate, the overall score, and the percentile. Percentile score denotes the percentage of candidates who have scored below or equal to you. Scoring a 70 percentile would imply that your score is better than 70 percent of the test takers.
XLRI Jamshedpur will also send a hard copy of the score card to the address of the candidate.
