The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) is the official ranking system adopted by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. NIRF evaluates universities based on five broad parameters, including Teaching, Learning and Resources (TLR), Research and Professional Practice (RP), Graduation Outcomes (GO), Outreach and Inclusivity (OI), and Perception (PR).
The universities are ranked based on a total score out of 100, with each parameter carrying a weightage of 100, 100, 150, 100, and 50 respectively. The rankings are determined through a combination of data analysis and surveys conducted among students, faculty, and other stakeholders.
The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was launched by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, in 2015 to rank higher education institutions in India. NIRF uses a methodology that evaluates universities based on five broad parameters: Teaching, Learning & Resources; Research and Professional Practice; Graduation Outcomes; Outreach and Inclusivity; and perception.
