After the passing of IIM Act 2017 the first MBA postgraduate degree was awarded by the IIM Ahmedabad instead of the previous PG Diploma to the various MBA courses offered to the students in PGP, PGP-FABM and PGPX students passing out in 2019. To complement the different scholarships offered by the industry and the government, IIM Ahmedabad established a need-based scholarship programme. A lot of IIM aspirants receive significant financial support each year through this programme. The scholarship programme is open to students accepted to postgraduate programmes whose gross yearly income was less than INR 15,00,000 in the prior fiscal year.
They will need to show documentation of their family's income, the number of student loans they have taken, the candidates' prior earnings, etc. The parent's/and guardian's spouse's combined annual income will be used to determine the annual income (if married). The income before any tax deductions will be taken into account.
Based on its evaluation of the student's economic situation as assessed by factors like movable and immovable family assets, the number of dependents on the family income, and any other factors it may deem necessary, the institute will determine the amount of financial assistance needed for each student.
In addition, IIM Ahmedabad provides students with a variety of industrial scholarships based on their academic achievements. Among these scholarships are the Sir Ratan Tata Scholarship and the Aditya Birla Scholarship, both established by the Sir Ratan Tata Trust in Mumbai.
All postgraduate students in the SC/ST category receive INR 150 per month for ten months as a scholarship.
