IISc Bangalore, the conducting body of GATE 2024, released GATE 2024 Application Form on August 31, 2023. GATE 2024 Application Form has been made available on the official website of IISc Bangalore as well as GATE i.e. goaps.iisc.ac.in. Candidates who wish to appear in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering must register themselves before the registration window closes on September 30, 2023. GATE Exam Registration link has been made available on the official website as well as here on this page. In order to fill the GATE 2024 Application Form, candidates will have to register themselves at the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS). GATE 2023 Official Website was gate.iitk.ac.in as the GATE 2023 was conducted by IIT Kanpur but this year GATE 2024 Exam is being conducted by IISc Bangalore hence interested students will be advised to visit goaps.iisc.ac.in to fill the GATE 2024 Registration Form. The last date to fill the GATE Application Form 2024 without any late fee is September 29, 2023. GATE Full Form is Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering.

Note* If there is a delay in receiving the One Time Password, candidates can proceed for making the payment of GATE Exam Fees with verification of either email id or mobile number. The remaining one can be verified later on at another stage.

The registration procedure of GATE Exam needs to be completed online on the official website of GATE. Candidates willing to apply for the exam are required to visit the official website of GATE and apply by filling the application form available there. There is a stepwise procedure that candidates must follow in order to fill the application form correctly.
The examination conducting authority make sure to release a guide for successful submission of GATE Registration Form. Below mentioned are the steps to apply for the exam and fill the application form in order to register for the exam:
This is the first step to apply for the examination. Interested candidates must, first of all, register themselves by entering the required details. Candidates must click on “New User” tab if applying for the first time and proceed as per the guide. They will receive access to GOAPS after the registration procedure is completed.
Candidates must log in using the credentials received by them on their registered email id and start filling the GATE Registration Form.
While filling the application form, candidates must also upload their passport sized photograph, signature, eligibility certificate, SC/ST certificate (if required) as per the specifications mentioned by the exam conducting authority.
Candidates must process the payment of GATE Exam Fees via any online payment modes such as net banking, credit card, or debit card.
Candidates must, at the end, submit their duly filled GATE Registration Form by accepting the declaration statement and clicking on “Submit” tab.
So, the above mentioned was the brief idea of how students can register themselves and apply for the exam. The detailed description of step wise procedure to apply for GATE 2024 Exam has been given below. Candidates must ensure filling the form in the sequence given below.
The first step to apply for the exam is to register for GATE 2024 by completing the registration procedure. Candidates applying for the first time must register as new user by clicking on the tab “New User”. Candidates who already possess login credentials can continue further by clicking on “Login, If Already Registered”.

The next step is to fill GATE 2024 Application Form made available right after the registration procedure is completed. Candidates are required to enter the enrollment id and password sent to them on their registered email id and mobile number. It is advisable for candidates to go through the information brochure of GATE 2024 Exam and read the given instructions thoroughly before filling the application form. This section consists of four subsections concerning "How to Apply for GATE 2024?".
Candidates must also verify their email address and mobile number entered at the time of registration. While confirming the details by clicking on ‘Verify' button, they will receive an OTP on their registered email id and mobile number. Enter all the required details correctly as any incorrect may lead to cancelation of their candidature.

Candidates must read and accept the declaration statement before submitting the GATE Application Form. They must be aware of all the points mentioned in the declaration statement. The GATE Application Form can not be submitted before agreeing to the declaration. Some of the points are mentioned below:
In order to check the application status of GATE 2024 Exam, candidates must log in at GATE 2024 Registration Link using their login credentials. If the application status of the exam shows ‘Under Scrutiny/Under Process', then the candidates must not bother about the status. The concerned authorities will scrutinize all the GATE Registration Forms and will send intimation to all the students whose applications need to get rectified.

In case candidates have committed any mistakes in the application form of GATE Exam, they can rectify them when GATE Registration Correction Window opens after the GATE Registration are concluded. Yes. There is negative marking in GATE Exam. For every incorrect answer, there will be a penalty. For 1 mark MCQs, there will be a deduction of 1/3 mark for every incorrect answer and for 2 marks MCQs, there will be a deduction of 2/3 mark for every incorrect answer. There is no negative marking for MSQs and NAT questions.
The last date to fill GATE Application Form is 29 September 2023 (without late fees). Otherwise, candidates can register for GATE Exam until 13 October, 2023 but with late fees.
